Christian Siragusa is a Trial Lawyer at Schwartzapfel Truhowsky Marcus P.C.
I was born in Brooklyn and moved to Staten Island when I was nine. Being from Brooklyn, I learned how to argue at a very young age and soon learned that I was quite good at it. I was quite young when I knew that I would be a lawyer. The challenge of persuading people to my point of view is something I enjoy. Now I apply that same passion to my career as a Trial Attorney.
After receiving my undergraduate degree with honors from St. John University in 1990, I attended the university's School of Law, graduating in 1993 also with honors and as a member of Law Review. I have worked exclusively in the field of personal injury since I became a lawyer. My first position was with a prominent plaintiff's firm. I began trying cases immediately and I haven't stopped. My clients have included the victims of automobile accidents, medical malpractice, municipal misconduct and defective products.
I particularly enjoy the challenges presented by a difficult case. On many occasions, I have handled cases that other lawyers refused or were unsure how to handle and I have consistently achieved outstanding results. I also enjoy going to court against large corporations or insurance companies and fighting for the average citizen. When a company injures people in the name of profits, it should be held accountable. This is a basic principle of American justice and I strongly believe in it.
I also spent a portion of my career as a Senior Counsel for the New York City Law Department defending the City of New York and its various departments and agencies in tort cases. I found this work quite rewarding as well. I saw this work as a way of giving something back to a City where I was raised and that enriches our lives so much.
My upbringing taught me to be understanding of people's problems. Most of my clients have little or no experience with a legal system that can be quite intimidating. I take the time to explain each step of the process to them and to answer any questions they may have. I am never too busy to help a client and make the entire experience easier. Above all, I value being honest with clients so that they know exactly what to expect during the entire litigation process.
I have taught Continuing Legal Education to lawyers in various topics. I have also been an Adjunct Professor of Law at St. John's.
I am married with two sons. They have my same thirst for knowledge and natural curiosity. They keep us quite busy! I enjoy traveling, exercising and reading as well.
